About the 2026 Summer Games
The Special Olympics Virginia Summer Games are the largest annual competition for Special Olympics athletes in the state of Virginia.
This year's event will take place in Richmond, Virginia from June 5-6, 2026. The Games will feature over 1,100 athletes from across Virginia competing in a variety of sports such as swimming, track and field, tennis and more.

Join us for an unforgettable evening at the 2026 Special Olympics Virginia Summer Games Opening Ceremony, taking place Friday, June 5 at 7 pm at the University of Richmond's Robins Stadium.
Olympic Celebration Night
Cap off an incredible day with music, games, and good vibes. The Olympic Celebration runs from 7:00–9:00 PM on Saturday June 6th and is packed with activities for athletes, families, and fans alike.
