Regional soccer tournament hosted at Ida Lee Park on Saturday, October 24th offering 5-a-side soccer games with 15 minute halves and 5 minute halftimes. Volunteers are needed, please register at the link below:

River City Fall Games will be held on Saturday, October 31^st 2026 and is a regional competition offering Bocce Singles, Pickleball Doubles, Soccer 5-a-side Team, Soccer Skills, Volleyball Team and Volleyball Skills Competitions. Virginia State University  graciously hosts the event on their campus with VSU sports teams, students and admins officiating and cheering on Special Olympic athletes creating a memorable experience for all.

The volleyball competition will be hosted by the Richmond Volleyball Club Byrdhill (2921 Byrdhill Rd., Richmond VA 23228). They are providing the courts, balls and referees from employees and supporters of the RVC. This venue will have their own opening and awards ceremony.

The Capital, Tidewater and Rappahannock Regions are invited. When registration opens, Click HERE to register.

Regional competition offering bocce singles, golf level 2/4, pickleball doubles, soccer 5-a-side team, soccer skills, volleyball team and volleyball skills competitions. Bridgewater College graciously hosts the event on their campus with BC sports teams officiating and cheering on Special Olympic athletes creating a memorable experience for all. New this year SO cheerleading squads are invited to perform, registration for all athletes will be in early October.

The Woodberry Forest Basketball Tournament is a regional qualifying basketball tournament held for Special Olympics Virginia athletes. The event begins with an Opening Ceremony kick off followed by tournament play involving full court traditional, full court Unified, half court, and individual skills competition.

Regional competition for basketball celebrating the end of a great season. VMI cadets host Special Olympic teams to compete in full court, half court and skills competition on their historic grounds in Lexington Virginia. A powerful opening ceremony, dance party with the VMI mascot Moe and a dinner in Crozet Hall all create a wonderful day honoring sports achievement and inclusion.

River City Swim Regional will be held on Sunday, April 11^th, 2027 offering swimming skills and swimming event competitions.

Come out and cheer on Special Olympic athletes as they walk, swim, backstroke and more through the lanes, in a variety of competitive events.
