Know The Numbers

  • There will be 238 athletes competing in swimming
  • There are 98 coaches

Swimming events include:

  • Racing: 25 yards to 800 yards in the backstroke, breastroke, freestyle, and butterfly
  • Skills: assisted swim, walk, unassisted swim, kickboard and flotation device

Timers

Run either the wall pad plunger or handheld dolphin timer for your assigned lane. Follow officials' instructions, reset between heats, and cheer on athletes throughout!

Clerk Escorts

Take athletes from the Clerking table to the staging area or from staging to the start line for the event they are swimming in. View the training document for more details on this role.

Swimming Skills

Serve as either an escort or timer in the swimming skills area. Escorts will assist athlete in transitioning from each event and assist them in getting their medal. Timers will assist in the timing and recording of all swimming skill events.

Security

Assist in making sure only people with the proper credentials (athletes and coaches) are allowed int he pool deck. All family, friends and spectators must watch from the seating areas.

Staging

Oversee the athletes once they arrive in the staging area (after being dropped off by a Clerk Escort) and make sure they are placed in the correct lane/seat for the upcoming races.

Table Assistants

Take paperwork to and from specific locations within the facility.
