Programs Offered at Special Olympics Virginia
Global Messengers
Our Global Messenger training program, sponsored by the Hometown Foundation, offers public speaking and presentation skills training to Special Olympics athletes. Athletes who join are empowered to share, in their own words, what’s so special about Special Olympics.
Athlete Activation Team
Our Athlete Activation Team is made up of athletes interested in representing Special Olympics Virginia, virtually and in-person. Opportunities range from participation in corporate activation campaigns, donor outreach and competitions to joining us at state-level fundraisers, photoshoots, media opportunities and more.

Youth leadership Council
The Youth Leadership Council provides a chance for 16-20 youth leaders with and without ID to take their passion for leadership to a new level in Virginia. The Youth Leadership Council will use a wide variety of tools to communicate effectively, such as email, social media, video conference calls and youth summits.
