Successful Summer Games Thanks to many Partners!

2026 Summer Games is in the books

The 2026 Special Olympics Virginia Summer Games brought together athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters from across the Commonwealth for an unforgettable weekend of competition and celebrations!

More than 1,200 athletes competed in five sports, track & field, swimming, softball, tennis, and bowling, earning more than 1,700 medals and showing everyone what they can do. This weekend was made possible by more than 2,000 volunteers who spent countless hours in the summer heat to make a memorable experience for every single medal winner.

While the athletes were the stars of the weekend, Summer Games would not be possible without the generous support of these volunteers and our corporate partners. From supporting competition venues and Olympic Town to providing essential event services and volunteer support, our partners helped ensure athletes could focus on what they do best: competing and earning some well-deserved hardware. We extend our sincere gratitude to all of our 2026 Summer Games supporters and would like to spotlight a few who made an extra special impact.

Partner Spotlight: Davis & Green
While strolling through Olympic Town you may have noticed some extra “ink” on a few athletes and fans – all thanks to Davis & Green. Their team provided the temporary tattoo tent, outfitting athletes with Summer Games inspired tattoos and the new favorite, Ollie (their mascot), tattoos. We can’t wait to see what fun tattoos, coloring sheets and games they bring to Summer Games 2027.

Team member Raven shared, "Summer Games is one of the highlights of our year. It's an incredible opportunity for our team to connect with athletes, families, and the community while supporting an organization that makes such a meaningful difference. Seeing the smiles, excitement, and joy throughout the day reminds us why we're proud to be involved with Special Olympics Virginia!"

Partner Spotlight: Enterprise Mobility
Enterprise Mobility brought the fun and fan-favorite snacks to Olympic Town, slinging snow cones and popcorn for all in attendance! There were no shortages of smiles when you walked by their tent and Enterprise Mobility employees were cheering for every Olympic Town attendee as they just crossed the finish line. We are so thankful for the energy and enthusiasm that bring each year!

Partner Spotlight Synergy Technical
Synergy Technical helped create a welcoming retreat for athletes by sponsoring and staffing the Chill Zone, a dedicated sensory-friendly space designed for rest, relaxation, and recharging between competitions.
The Chill Zone provided athletes with a calm environment where they could decompress and engage with sensory activities, including playdough, fidget toys, puzzles, calming music, aromatherapy, and a bubble machine. Whether athletes needed a quiet moment to regroup or simply a place to relax with friends and family, the space offered a valuable resource throughout the weekend. A Synergy bonus – they provided cooling towels and t-shirts for athletes to take a piece of the Chill Zone with them beyond the Games.

Partner Spotlight: Virginia Farm Bureau
For decades, Virginia Farm Bureau has been a dedicated supporter of Special Olympics Virginia, specifically Summer Games. This year they served as the featured partner of the tennis venue, demonstrating their commitment to volunteering throughout the weekend.
More than 50 employees came out on Saturday to support Tennis & Tennis Skills competitions ensuring that everything ran smoothly and each athlete enjoyed their Summer Games experience. We know many of these athletes look forward to seeing the VA Farm Bureau volunteers every year!
