Special Olympics Virginia's Dulles Day Plane Pull returned to Dulles International Airport today, bringing together 67 teams from local businesses, government agencies, law enforcement, and community groups. Each team took a turn pulling a FedEx plane or a United plane down the tarmac, competing for the fastest time while raising money for SOVA athletes.
By the end of the day, the event had raised $512,000 to support Special Olympics Virginia programs and competition opportunities.
Athletes were on hand throughout the event, and coaches cheered on teams as they pulled, adding to the energy on the tarmac.

Thank you to every team, volunteer, and sponsor who made today's event possible. Special Olympics Virginia couldn't offer year-round training and competition to its athletes without this kind of community support. We're already looking forward to next year's Plane Pull.
