Three DMV runners will be participating in this year’s upcoming Marine Corps Marathon!
We are so thankful to have an event where Special Olympics Virginia, Special Olympics Maryland and Special Olympics DC can come together. All three organizations are supported by the U.S. Marine Corps as we continue our goal of supporting and advocating for members of the disability community.
Three extraordinary runners who are helping us with our fundraising goals this year are Luke Dean, a Final Leg Runner from this year’s USA Games; Alison Carlin, a new staff member; and Sade Smith, a NOVA Young Professionals Board member.
Thanks to these three individuals and everyone else who has participated and contributed, we have already made progress toward our fundraising goal of $60,000 for this year’s event.
Luke Dean has helped raise $705 toward our goal, Alison Carlin has raised $250, and Sade Smith has raised $50. We are extremely grateful to these three runners and everyone else who has contributed to our ongoing fundraising efforts. Every donation helps us continue financially supporting members of the disability community.
The Marine Corps Marathon will take place on October 25, 2026, in Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
