Key pieces to note:
- This is a leadership role at Special Olympics Virginia. It’s focused on public speaking. As an Athlete Spokesperson, you’ll be giving speeches, interviews, presentations and more. Being an Athlete Spokesperson is about connecting with others to share the Special Olympics movement with your community
- Identify and recruit a mentor. Athlete spokespersons and their Mentor will work as a team.
- This is a 2 year training program.
- 2 in person training weekends in Richmond
- Online courses for continuing education will also be required.
- You will be asked to see speaking opportunities in your community with the help of your mentor.
