2022 Final Mile

Fuel the Flame of Hope and Ignite the Cauldron at the 2022 Summer Games Opening Ceremony

From June 5-10 Torch Runners from throughout the Commonwealth will carry the Flame of Hope and track their miles as they head to the University of Richmond for the Final Mile into the Opening Ceremony at Summer Games.

Become a Final Mile Runner:
All Final Mile registrants will receive the 2022 LETR t-shirt and will secure their spot at the starting line for the final mile.

Fuel the Flame of Hope:
Once registered, you can create a personalized fundraising page to collect online donations. The funds raised help to provide year-round sports training, competitions, leadership opportunities and health care for 23,000 Special Olympics Virginia athletes of all abilities.

Raise $75 and you’ll earn an exclusive finisher medal, designed by a Special Olympics Virginia athlete.

Final Mile Details:

  • Date: June 10, 2022
  • Time:
    • Please meet in the C75 Parking Lot between 5:30 - 6PM
    • Runners will take off at 6:45PM
    • Those participating in lighting the cauldron will need to plan to stay through Opening Ceremony
  • Location: University of Richmond
  • Distance: Just over 1-mile throughout University of Richmond's campus (map below)
