Fast Food Swaps

I am a huge fan of eating fast-food, specifically Wendy’s and Chick-Fil-A. The reason I like these two fast food places is because of Chick-Fil-A’s chicken sandwich and Wendy’s baconator burger -- due to me being a big burger fan. I also enjoy the waffle fries and chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A, too.

However, to prevent myself from going overboard, I come up with better and healthier alternatives to prevent myself from eating fast-food all the time. These include eating any and all grocery meals I have left from Wegman’s, where I go grocery shopping. I eat frozen breakfast sandwiches when I want to prevent myself from eating fast-food after I’m all out of Wegman’s meals. Other frozen food options I try to use along with breakfast sandwiches also include frozen pizza, bacon-wrapped scallops and chicken shrimp.

To make sure I keep a healthy diet, I encourage myself to eat plenty of fruit each day. Examples include Grapes, Bananas, Pineapple, and Watermelon. When I eat my groceries, I sometimes try to begin eating the meal I bought first, and then I let myself eat the snacks afterwards. I also try not to eat as much so I don’t gain too much weight.

I try to encourage myself to add more healthy food choices in my diet after trying a new food. A great example of this is New Year’s Eve of 2023, where I decided to try some cauliflower. It was delicious, and I have made the decision to implement cauliflower on future grocery trips, hoping they will also have good-tasting cauliflower. I often drink plenty of water each day as well to keep myself hydrated and distract myself from eating food at times. A strategy I will try to implement next time I go to a fast-food place, is maybe decreasing what I eat and drink there, so I’m not consuming as much unhealthy stuff or gaining as much weight as before. For example, perhaps when I go to Chick-Fil-A in the future, I’ll switch out my coke for water and maybe just get the chicken sandwich and the nuggets, or just the sandwich.

A suggestion from my father I will try to implement moving forward is simply going to the grocery store myself to pick up my meals when I am on-the-go instead of fast-food. This seems like an excellent suggestion, and I will try to go that route sometimes, rather than always going to Chick-Fil-A, Wendy’s, or another fast-food place when I am out. I will also consider going to supermarkets in general to search out better and healthier alternatives to fast-food.

To conclude, I will use all of these strategies and resources to ensure I’m not gaining too much weight and to avoid eating fast-food all the time.
