Young Athletes Curriculum

Week Eight, Lesson Three

LESSON OVERVIEW

Opening Sports Song (4 min) – Get ready to move! Sing along and do the motions that accompany the song.

Beginning Tennis/Softball (6 min) – Place the ball on a cone or another object. Stand sideways and hit the ball with the paddle.

Kickball (5 min) – Stand a short distance away and roll the ball to the athlete. The athlete kicks the ball back to you.

Penalty Kick Prep (5 min) – Arrange two cones to make a goal. Place the ball on the ground several feet from the goal. The athlete kicks the ball through the goal.

Give and Go (5 min) – Kick the ball toward the athlete and encourage him/her to kick the moving ball through the cones to score a goal.

Closing Sports Song (5 min) – You did it! Sing along and do the motions that accompany the song.
