Fresh off a silver medal at the World Games in Abu Dhabi this summer, Grace Anne Braxton recently returned to the international stage, this time in Scotland for the 2019 Solheim Diversity Cup. As part of The Solheim Cup festivities, a biennial women’s professional golf tournament, the Diversity Cup featured six teams of three players, each consisting of one celebrity, one member from the European Disabled Golfers Association (EDGA) and one junior from the Scottish Junior Boys Team.

Grace Anne was able to earn a spot through the USGA, who nominated her to join EDGA because of her strong showing at the American Disabled Golf Tournament in Richmond this past June. It certainly didn’t hurt that Grace Anne is also a three-time Special Olympics World Games medalist.

For the Cup, Grace Anne was paired with BBC Sport’s lead golf presenter, Eilidh Barbour, Alexander Ewen, and caddied by her Dad, Harrison.

“Grace Anne played beautifully,” said Harrison. She even said it was the best time she’s had in her life. She absolutely loved it.”

For Harrison, that’s two trips around the world this summer to see his daughter compete.

“I would’ve never imagined that when she was 7 or 8 we would be traveling the world for golf but I’m honored to be a part of these trips.”

It wasn’t all business for Harrison and Grace Anne; they enjoyed some of the Scotland sights as well. Harrison claims he sits back and lets Grace Anne plan the trip. “She’s always prepared. She buys books and studies about all these places before we go. She learns what to see, what to do, and what to expect.”

No matter what, we expect that Grace Anne will hitting the links again soon, always at the top of her game.
