Lt. Lowery has been active with Torch Run and Special Olympics for over six years. During this time, he has been instrumental in engaging both athletes and fellow officers, so that they all could interact together and get to know one another.
Marques has taken leadership roles at many events, including Plane Pull, golf tournaments, Polar Plunge, Cover the Cruisers, Mid-Atlantic Police Rodeo, as well as coaching many bocce athletes in his spare time.
After COVID struck and many events were canceled, Lt. Lowery kept his commitment to his local Area 26 bocce athletes and held virtual meetings every other week, keeping the bond with his team and encouraging them to stay in shape and be safe.
