We've reached 100 practice sessions in our partnership with Topgolf, marking nearly two years of consistent, year-round programming for athletes across two area programs.
Since July 2023, athletes from Area 26 in Fairfax County and Area 14 in Loudoun County have gathered every Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for structured golf practice, pausing only in December. More than 200 athletes have come through the program, with sessions continuing even through winter months.
"The golf gives people a reason to show up, but the socialization is what makes it stick," said Head Coach Wilson. "We've had volunteers and athletes build real bonds through this program."
The consistency of the program has made it stand out among local offerings, giving athletes a regular, recurring commitment they can count on week to week.
"Topgolf has been exactly the kind of partner we look for," said Bryan Schubring, Senior Director of Sport and Competition. "This program gives athletes year-round access to practice, to improvement, and to each other."
With session 100 now behind us, Monday evenings at Topgolf continue.
