Conner Emmert's entrance Wednesday night drew the kind of crowd that fills every seat: friends, family, and the Special Olympics community, gathered at Ashland Theatre for the premiere of Conner's World.

The 17-minute documentary from Special Olympics Virginia follows Emmert through his preparation for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, where he'll represent Team Virginia in the mini javelin, 100M, and 4x100 relay. He arrived via police escort and walked the red carpet before the screening.

Emmert, a 2025 graduate of Goochland High School, competes year-round in bocce, bowling, track and field, basketball, and golf. Getting to Minneapolis required more than training. He has undergone multiple brain surgeries and a spinal fusion.

Conner's World

A 2025 graduate of Goochland High School, Conner competes year-round in bocce, bowling, track and field, basketball, and golf. His path to this moment hasn’t been simple. After multiple brain surgeries and a spinal fusion, getting here wasn’t guaranteed. This film follows Conner in the lead-up to the USA Games, offering a look into his day-to-day life, his preparation, and the world around him.

The film doesn't try to explain him. It just shows you his world.

Following the screening, the GameChang3rs led a Q&A with Emmert on stage.
