William has been involved with Special Olympics since high school in Amherst, Virginia, competing in both Powerlifting and Basketball. Early on, he noticed that the people around him looked to him as someone steady and dependable, someone they could count on when things got hard. That experience shaped how he sees his role in the organization. Special Olympics has changed his life, and that's what keeps him going. His biggest logistical challenge is transportation, finding reliable ways to get where he needs to be without losing too much time. And what makes him most proud? Winning gold medals.
