Travis has been involved with Special Olympics for 24 years. He has participated in 7 different sports, which are volleyball, softball, basketball, speed skating, roller skating, bowling, and swimming. He has served as a Global Messenger for 10 years. Thanks to his experiences through Special Olympics Virginia, Travis has been able to become more social and open to both talking and interacting with others in life. This organization has also allowed him to meet and make lifelong friends. Of his Special Olympics experiences, he is the most proud of winning 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in South Korea in the 2013 Winter World Games. He’s also proud of participating in fundraising events like the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics.
