Soccer Sundays Salem

HopeTree Fields, 860 Mt Vernon Ln, Salem, VA
Area 8 Soccer Sundays. Practices are on Sundays at Hope Tree in Salem. Start date is 8/16/26, with 2 practices to start: 3:30pm-4:30pm (Youth 13 and under + Adult Skills) 6:00pm-7:30pm (Team Play). Practice times are subject to change based on weather and season change.

All abilities welcome. Practice includes skill development and some team play.

Unified Sports welcomes players with and without disabilities.
It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

Unified Walking Club

Uptown Christiansburg Mall, 782 New River Rd. Christiansburg, VA
Unified Walking Club joins people with and without intellectual disabilities for a fun and fitness.

All members of the Special Olympics community (coaches, partners, family members, volunteer groups and caregivers) are welcome to join! This activity is lead by Coaches Matt and Jill Wheeler and will meet each Monday evening 6:30-7:30 pm.

2026 Topgolf ProAm

Topgolf and Special Olympics have formed a global partnership that is committed to making the game of golf more diverse, inclusive and fun. The partnership between Topgolf and Special Olympics demonstrates how inclusive sport training and competition can serve as a catalyst for inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. What starts in a Topgolf bay can extend into our classrooms, workplaces, and communities. This year, for the first time, Special Olympics and Topgolf are proud to announce the 2026 Topgolf ProAm.

Join us at Topgolf One Loudoun.

  • Team size: 5 people per team (each team will be paired with an athlete)

“Feet Meets” are a way for schools to engage students with and without intellectual disabilities. Students practice the sports stations at their schools for six to eight weeks in preparation for the culminating Feet Meet.


Feet Meets are school events that occur during the school day.

Area 26 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast

We're raising money for the cause to make a difference! Please join us at our fourth annual Pancake Breakfast for a morning of food and fellowship. Your pancakes, courtesy of Bronson Bierhall, will be freshly whipped up by the Bronson staff and served to you by our local athletes! All the proceeds from ticket sales & tips will go directly to fund the Area 26 Special Olympics Programs.

Mark J. Emery Memorial Area 26 Golf Tournament

Westfields Golf Club 13940 Balmoral Greens Ave Clifton, VA 20124
In honor of the legacy of Mark J. Emery who embodied the mission of Special Olympics. He is a founder, an inventor, a motivator, and a friend. Through his leadership as coordinator, coach, and unified partner of Area 26 sports he instilled respect, inclusion, and unity among his athletes and volunteers. Mark is credited for his longtime dedication to this annual golf tournament fundraiser that benefits all sports programs in Area 26.

Play 18 holes at the fabulous Westfields Golf Course, Chantilly, Virginia and interact with our Special Olympic Athletes. Enjoy lunch, an awards dinner banquet, unlimited beverages during play, and silent auction, too!
