Tiny Feet Meet Salem
East Salem Elementary
“Feet Meets” are exciting, inclusive events where preschool students with and without intellectual disabilities come together to engage, play, and celebrate friendship through movement-based activities.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students participate in the Young Athletes program, learning basic sports skills and building confidence in a supportive environment. The Feet Meet serves as a culminating celebration of their hard work and progress!
Five Salem City Schools will participate.

Little Feet Meet - Roanoke

“Feet Meets” are a way for schools to engage students with and without intellectual disabilities. Students practice the sports stations at their schools for six - eight weeks in preparation for the culminating Feet Meet.
Feet Meets are school events that occur during the school day.
A fun filled day for Elementary Age, K-5th Grade students. High School and College Students along with community volunteers will host the event stations. Volunteer check in begins at 8:15. Volunteers sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/LittleFeetVolSignup

Unified Track teams from across the region will come together for an inspiring day of competition, community, and celebration of Special Olympics Unified Sports, hosted by Lord Botetourt High School.
This meet arks the culmination of an incredible season, showcasing the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship of athletes of all abilities. It’s more than just a track meet—it's a celebration of inclusion, teamwork, and Unified Champion Schools.

Virginia Tech Recognized Nationally for Commitment to Inclusion
Virginia Tech, a Special Olympics Unified Champion School, received national banner recognition Feb. 4 for the school's efforts to provide inclusive sports for that include persons with and without disabilities. This honor is a result of meeting 10 Special Olympics’ national standards of excellence in the areas of inclusion, advocacy and respect. Virginia Tech is the first university in the state to receive this honor.
