Shon is a Special Olympics Virginia athlete from Fairfax who competes in Pentathlon. He also participates in basketball during the winter, track & field in the spring, and soccer in the fall, and has taken part in the Plane Pull. Shon says being part of Special Olympics has made his life stronger and helped him grow as both an athlete and a person. He enjoys dancing, which he considers his hidden talent, and is preparing for the 2026 USA Games by working out regularly. Though he feels nervous about competing at the national level for the first time, he’s excited for the new experience and challenge ahead. Outside of sports, Shon enjoys making coffee, cooking, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. He volunteers at Floris United Methodist Church, attends Expectation Church weekly, and participates in the Best Buddies Friendship Walk. Shon, who works at Navy Federal Credit Union, is also a recipient of their Employee Hero Award. He admires his job coach, Mina, for her support and encouragement as he continues to grow both personally and professionally.
