Scott Young is a retired deputy from the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office who now serves part-time as a School Resource Officer. He’s been involved with Special Olympics for 28 years, first introduced by his captain, Chuck Hart. His favorite memory is meeting Max — in a bathroom, no less — at his first state conference, a moment that made him a lifelong Torch Runner.
