Sara has volunteered in medical support for Special Olympics Virginia for 22 years. Special Olympics has changed her life in many ways, inspiring her to become a curriculum special education teacher. She finds joy in helping students and athletes overcome challenges and succeed, and she credits her third-grade teacher, Mrs. Littlefield, for instilling her lifelong love of learning. Outside of work, Sara enjoys baking — including wedding cakes — traveling with her family, serving on the board of her local swim team, and advocating for meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities through Hanover Community Support Services (HCSS).
