The 2025 Special Olympics Virginia Young Professionals Board Golf Tournament hosted their 5th Annual Golf Tournament at Brandermill Country Club on Monday, October 6, 2025. Over 88 golfers and 20+ sponsors came out to to hit the links in support of 23,000+ athletes of all abilities!
The tournament is so much more than just 18 holes - there were athletes, competitions and lots of fun. The course was buzzing from the moment golfers arrived. On the putting green, the Bottle Bonanza drew a crowd, sparking laughter and friendly competition as players took their best shot at winning top-shelf prizes. Throughout the day, participants also had the chance to experience the heart of Special Olympics firsthand during the Putt & Drive challenge, where athletes James “Peanut” Tench, Chelsea Gaughran, and Brian Beck joined golfers on the tee box. Their enthusiasm and skill set the tone for a day rooted in connection and shared joy.
Thanks to the remarkable support of players, sponsors, volunteers, and the Young Professionals Board, the tournament raised more than $43,000 to directly benefit Special Olympics Virginia athletes across the Commonwealth. These funds will help expand year-round sports, health, and leadership opportunities for athletes of all abilities!

As the final putts dropped and the sun set over Brandermill, it was clear this event was about far more than golf; it was about teamwork, inclusion and building a future where every athlete has the chance to thrive. The Young Professionals Board looks forward to continuing this tradition and making an even greater impact in 2026!
