For athletes representing Team Virginia at the 2026 USA Games, the journey to competition began long before they stepped onto the field of play. It started with a community of supporters who believed in them every step of the way.
Among those supporters was Pohanka Mobility, whose sponsorship helped make Team Virginia's trip to the USA Games possible. But their commitment didn't end with a financial contribution. On departure day, members of the Pohanka Mobility team gathered at the hotel to cheer on Team Virginia as athletes headed to the airport to begin the trip to Minnesota, sending them off with encouragement and excitement.
That support meant the world to athletes like Eddy Sandoval.
Competing against some of the best Special Olympics athletes from across the country, Eddy gave everything he had and earned an impressive fifth-place finish in the Pentathlon. While his success tells part of the story, the opportunity to compete on a national stage is made possible because of partners like Pohanka Mobility, who believe every athlete deserves a chance to demonstrate what they can do.
