Plane Amazing - Roger Johnson

Roger Johnson has been a Special Olympics athlete for 31 years, and he has used them well in basketball, swimming, track and field, softball, tennis and golf.

Born with cerebral palsy, he did not start walking or talking until he was three and a half; he went on to the 2014 USA Games in New Jersey and finished second in his division in 9-hole golf.

Golf is his sport now, and teammates will tell you he has a big heart and does whatever he can to help anybody, whenever he can.

This year he is excited to cheer the teams on and take a turn on the rope himself, because he has always believed anybody can do anything they put their mind to.

In his words

“I've always said anybody can do anything they put their mind to, and as long as you try your best, that's the best anyone can ask.”
