Dylan Jacquez joined Special Olympics Virginia in 2021 and has been going full speed ever since track and field, soccer, basketball and golf, all squeezed in around school.
He is known around his community for his contagious energy. He has a rare genetic condition called inverted duplication of chromosome 8 which has never slowed his plan of making every day the best ever.
He says he comes to Special Olympics Virginia to have fun and spend time with his friends. He wakes up excited to try new things, so handing him a rope attached to an airplane feels like exactly the right idea.
In his words
“I love Special Olympics because I get to travel, get out of my house, and be with my friends.”
