This year’s Southwest Virginia Plane Pull is soaring to new heights with the exciting addition of a brand-new attraction: the Kids Plane Pull!
For the first time ever, young participants will get the chance to take part in the high-energy, community-powered event, all while supporting the athletes of Special Olympics Virginia. Designed especially for children, the Kids Plane Pull gives kids a chance to be part of the action in a safe and fun way. For just $10 per child, kids will test their strength and teamwork by pulling a small sized airplane provided by Star Flight Training alongside other young participants. Bonus! Every child who participates will take home a small piece of the day, a kid-sized airplane to continue the fun until next year.
This event does NOT have pre-registration. Anyone who wishes to participate should arrive with a parent or guardian to the Kids Plane Pull area on-site.
The Kids Plane Pull will run alongside the main Plane Pull competition, where teams of 25 face off to see who can pull a 82 ton FedEx aircraft the fastest. The event raises critical funds and awareness for Special Olympics Virginia, supporting year-round sports training and competition for more than 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the Commonwealth.
