Gordon Hilley is a Special Olympics Bocce athlete, who got involved in the Special Olympics Virginia Area 2 Norfolk experience, thanks to some recommendations from good friends of his. He has also participated in Special Olympics Basketball, Soccer, and Track and Field. He won a gold medal at the 2024 Special Olympics Summer Games. Afterwards, he was chosen to represent the Special Olympics at the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games.
