Derrick Graves has been a Special Olympics Virginia athlete for 30 years, competing in volleyball, basketball, soccer, track, and softball. Through Special Olympics, he’s made new friends and found confidence after overcoming bullying. Derrick is proud of earning multiple gold medals and enjoys helping out at the Spotsylvania Mall, where he works in maintenance. He looks up to his mom for making him a better person and loves playing video games in his free time. Derrick is excited to meet athletes from all over the country at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and is preparing by exercising and staying hydrated.
