CJ has been involved in the Special Olympics for 12 years. Aside from pickleball, CJ has participated in Special Olympics tennis and basketball. Thanks to Special Olympics, CJ has been able to compete in multiple sports competitions and gain confidence within himself. He said, “For many years my personal challenges seemed to get in the way of my moving forward in life. I couldn't express what I needed, and many people couldn't understand what to do to help me. Through hard work, the support of my family, and an organization like Special Olympics, I slowly found my way to where I feel like I fit in. I have a job that I love, a family that loves me, and friends that I enjoy.” Outside of Special Olympics, CJ enjoys going to NASCAR races, volunteering in his community and cheering on the Washington Commanders. He also is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
