Ashleigh first joined Special Olympics in 2018, starting with soccer before adding gymnastics, skiing, and sailing over the years. Through Special Olympics, Ashleigh has made close friends, learned new skills, and gained confidence in speaking up for herself.She is especially proud of learning to ski and sail, finishing races, and her volunteer job at the John Marshall Library. Ashleigh has competed in the Winter Games for Alpine Skiing in Pennsylvania for three years, earning medals at the Beginner Level. Outside of sports, she enjoys yoga with her mom, art classes, playing piano, learning Spanish, and going to the movies and bowling with friends. She also loves hiking with her family and recently completed a climb at Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park.
