2026 Xperience Tennis Invitational Brings National Competition to Charlottesville

Top Special Olympics tennis athletes from across the country returned to Charlottesville for the annual invitational.

The 2026 Xperience Tennis Invitational was held January 2–4 at Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. Athletes representing 13 states competed across multiple divisions, with Virginia represented by Don Pericle and Chris Raupp.

Virginia Results

Virginia athletes delivered strong performances throughout the tournament:

  • Chris Raupp earned third place in Division 2-A.
  • Don Pericle finished fourth in Division 2-B.

Tournament Overview

The tournament opened on Friday, January 2, with a tennis clinic hosted by the University of Virginia men’s and women’s tennis teams, followed by an Opening Ceremony that evening. Competition began Saturday with seeding matches across divisions. The event concluded on Sunday with semifinal and final matches, followed by an Awards Ceremony.
