Gena has been involved with Special Olympics organization for more than 10 years. In addition to bowling, she has coached pickleball, football, soccer, cheerleading, fitness, softball, track & field, and basketball. Being part of Special Olympics has inspired growth in Gena both personally and professionally. Her athletes motivate her to be her best self and drive her to do everything she can to help them reach their full potential. The biggest challenge she has faced through her Special Olympics experience has been navigating the organization’s evolution and growth. When she first started, the program was still developing, and it took time and effort to introduce new opportunities and more challenging sports for athletes. Through persistence and collaboration, she has helped expand the program, ensuring that athletes have access to as many extraordinary experiences as possible.
