SOVA's Athlete of the Week for
February 24, 2003

Name: Benji Frye

Hometown: Staunton

Age: 27-years old

Number of years in Special Olympics: 10 years

Special Olympics Sports: Benji is an active sportsman. He participates in Volleyball Skills, Speed Roller-skating, half-court basketball, Softball, Bowling.

Major Accomplishments: Being a part of the Special Olympics has bolstered Benji's self confidence. What use to be an "I can't" has turn into an "I can".

Interest: Benji enjoys playing the drums.

Jobs: Benji works three days a week at Vector Industries, a shelter workshop, in Waynesboro. The other two days, he is employed at Hardee's, a great sponsor of SOVA! He recently was awarded a beautiful black leather bag for his five years of service with the company.

Education Status: Benji graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1997.
