Carol Anne Connors (Fredericksburg, Va.) was named SOVA’s Athlete of the Year; Carol Anne has competed in powerlifting, golf, swimming, track and field, and basketball for more then 10 years. Earlier this month Carol Anne and her father capture the Gold medal in the National invitational Golf Tournament in St. Lucie, Florida. Carol Anne sank the winning putt that earned her a one stroke victory. In 1999 Carol Anne earned four bronze medals in powerlifting and was third in her weight class in the world. She has recently earned a trip to the 2003 World Games in Ireland. Carol Anne is a positive role model for other athletes and her spirit and enthusiasm help her teammates excel.
