Events & Fundraisers
Special Olympics is no longer just an event. With more than 30,000 competitions around the globe each year, training takes place every day. Athlete leaders, families and volunteers share our message year round. Special Olympics is a movement. A movement not just for our athletes, but for all of us.
And we want you to join in the fun.
Special Olympics Virginia athletes have the opportunity to compete – free of charge – in
local, regional,
statewide,
national and
international competitions. To raise much-needed funds for the program, we also hold numerous annual fundraisers throughout the year.
Volunteer committees,
in-kind donations and
sponsor support fuel the success of these events, which range from one-day single discipline meets and three-day, multisport competitions to our largest fundraisers, the
Polar Plunge® Winter Festival and the
Dulles Day Plane Pull®, which boast crowds of more than 10,000.

No matter your interest, there is a place in Special Olympics for you.
