“Sometimes when you have a disability, people look at you and only see the outside,” says athlete Anthony Green. “Playing sports lets you be who you are on the inside.”

In Virginia, Special Olympics is more than an event - it is a lifetime experience encompassing year-round sports competition, health, education and inclusion opportunities.

Special Olympics Gets "The Farm Bureau Advantage"

Special Olympics Virginia knows the full value of the Farm Bureau "advantage."  The relationship between Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance and Special Olympics Virginia began nearly 20 years ago with a simple donation of old computers to help support operations. Since that time, the relationship has grown to encompass regular events like an annual Awards Celebration and employee volunteerism at state games as well as innovative new projects.  One such event occured in February when the University of Richmond basketball team hosted a basketball clinic for 100 Special Olympics Virginia athletes as part of a weekend of hoops festivities facilitated by Virginia Farm Bureau.
