"A Taste of Inspiration"
Special Olympics Virginia Area Nine will be hosting a wine tasting with foods from local restaurants along with a silent auction at Selu Conservancy on Thursday, June 15. "A Taste of Inspiration" Presented by the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine will benefit Special Olympics in the New River Valley and surrounding areas.
This fundraising event will provide participants with a business-casual evening of fun and festivities, while showcasing the many opportunities provided by Special Olympics to persons with special needs in our community.
Selu, Radford University’s rustic retreat and conference center, will be a treat to visit and experience. Guests will be invited to sample specialty dishes from various local restaurants and taste different selections from local wineries, and wines from around the globe, hosted by Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg.
Restaurants participating include Backstreets, Beamers, The Cellar, Chartwell’s, Kabuki, Texas Roadhouse and Zeppoli's. In addition to Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller and Blacksburg Physical Therapy Associates, Inc., are major supporters of this inaugural "A Taste of Inspiration" event.
Along with enjoying the chance to network and learn more about Special Olympics, guests will be invited to bid on various items donated from area vendors or benefactors, with all proceeds benefiting local athletes in their year-round program of training and competition. The event Tickets to "A Taste of Inspiration" are limited and can be purchased in advance.
